Discharge rounds (where the doctor, nurse practitioner, and all interested parties--therapists, pharmacists, social workers, etc) were canceled yesterday because of a critical admission. I spoke with the speech therapist and she told me her recommendation to the nurse practitioner: increase bottle feeding to every other feeding so there can be consistency. After she sees consistency, she'll decide on a swallow study.
Clayton did awesome with his feedings yesterday. He took his full feedings (every other) by bottle without any episodes of low heart rate or oxygen saturation--this is so wonderful! I'm hoping something has clicked for him, but I'm cautious to get too confident.
